Whatever you’re doing or wherever you’re venturing to, Brigdens has you covered. The Holiday Shop is where you’ll find everything from T-Shirts, Shorts and Swimwear to Summer Shoes and Accessories.
Assuming your next holiday is in warmer climes, away from the unpredictable British weather, there are three situations you’re likely to find yourself in. Let’s assume you’re going to be swimming, exploring, indulging and witnessing a few beautiful sunsets. You need a) beach/poolside attire, b) easy daytime attire, and, if your itinerary includes it, c) a nod to formalwear.
For the pool
Starting with the poolside affair. A couple of pairs of trunks in a subtle design and colour will work perfectly with a set of neutral T-Shirts, white, navy and black are an easy go to, but a pop of colour never hurt anybody! Add a pair of sandals or sliders, should the poolside bar beckon, and that’s that baseline taken care of.
For the daytime
Next up is your daytime set-up, whether you’re dutifully ticking off the tourist sights or finding your way through beautiful alleyways. From head to toe, a good cap or hat to help shelter from the rays. Then a shirt, lightweight, linen and a seersucker fabric will be breathable. Depending on temperatures, it’s wise to pack a couple of pairs of chinos interspersed with shorts. A selection in beige, navy, white and something more vibrant, will work for every eventuality. Then consider your daytime shoes: boat shoes, driving shoes and leather sandals. A lightweight cross-body bag will store everything neatly.
For the evening
Night-time activities divide into two camps: the drinks and a meal overlooking-beautiful scenery and the late night walk along the ocean. For your smarter and more formal dinners, the chinos and shirts can remain intact, but switch up the final touches. A blazer in a half-canvas means the back section is unlined for extra breathability, Add driving shoes or a nice pair of espadrilles. For a little more oomph, pack a couple of brightly printed shirts to watch the sun set beyond the horizon.
Throw in a cashmere-blend sweater for when the temperature drops, a hefty amount of bug spray and a couple of great reads alongside enough underwear to last the duration and you’ll be the most stylistically informed as you head for the departure lounge.
